Hi

I have two problems that I am sure are inter related

I am an avid IE user so everytthing is set to go on IE.

But now it just dosnt work at all ..... All i get is the 404 Error page.

The other problem ..... I noticed it appeared about the same time.

Is with my Mc Afee Security Suite.

In the past I was using Zone alaarm and AVG and Adaware( Lavasoft)

Then I decided that a purchased FW and Anti V and SpyW would be better

But now I have a yellow question mark on the Mc Afee sign in the bottom right corner.

It says my Computer is not protected.

I have pressed FIX..... just the same .....says my detection files are 29 days out of date...... Cant find anywhere to download any detection updates.

I have looked at every thing in McAfee.... Have asked advice from people.... etc

But still got the same problem

Sorry, but issues with McAfee are beyond the scope of this forum. Have you tried the McAfee support forums? Or, if your ISP supplies McAfee free, have you tired their support forums?

The McAfee was a paid version I bought in the Mall.

I have so many prob;lems that I Removed the program altogether.

Next week I will do the Malware and Hijack this Scans

I am totally unable to use IE

PS. I cant download any Suppport pages or even Windows Updates.... I get this message

I was even unable to download AntiVir Antivirus and run it.

I got a real problem

Post your logs when you run the porgrams.

Also, check your restricted sites list in IE and make sure its empty. Also your HOSTS File.

The error message you posted shows 'Apache/1.3.34 Server at dummy.zoy.org Port 80' at the end. Does that website ring a bell?

I had a brain wave just after I finished posting the other day.


I went and downloaded IE 8.

The result is most dramatic...

IE works perfectly now..... all the problems I had have vanquished.... Got AntiVir working.

So thanks again..... Have a nice week..... I expect I will be back again sometime
