I have the blue screen on every restart, as well as the "screensaver" of the co*kroaches (<- that edit was automatic, lol) eating the screen.. but I have yet to ever let them completly eat it (resulting in a restart/crash, and lockdown), but when I move the mouse to restore the desktop, it brings up a login screen and I have to retype my password.. weird enough.

There is also a "ctfmonb" background "image" of just a blue screen in my
display properties/desktop/backgrounds that loads at every restart, as well as a "rundll32" exe in my system 32 file that restores itself and its processes after being deleted.

Please help! Thank you

here's my log:

SeCALPHA1
and I would like to mention the severity of this stupid virus; I can not go without moving the mouse for more than a single minute before the "screensaver" pops on and trys to crash my computer.

it doesn't matter what I'm doing on the computer, as long as I am not touching the mouse it will load the virus "screensaver"

The virus appears to be consuming all of my processing resources, as well.

Please help a.s.a.p.

Thanks for being here!
SeCALPHA1
I find it increasingly frustrating to have to shut off my computer every time I am not using it it any way.

Hope to hear from someone soon

thx again
SeCALPHA1
Sorry for repost; I shouldn't have replied to my own post in the first place.

I have the ctfmon a/b virus with the stupid blue screen and the co*kroach screensaver..

everytime I idle my mouse for a minute, the "screensaver" pops on and when i resume i have to unlock my computer. I've looked it up and I know that if i let the screensaver persist for longer than a minute (or more?) it will eventually shutdown my computer and completly lock it up

please help asap.

Im not sure what kind of virus it is at all, but i've done scannings with my program (avg) and run the programs listed in this forum, and they find nothing. No infections, or even threats.

here is my log; hope you can help (of course you can, lol. thank you):

  • The next screen will ask you to select the drives to scan. Leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button.
  • The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient.
  • When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
  • Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.
  • Back at the main Scanner screen, click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to restart your computer. (see Note below)
  • The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply and exit MBAM.
Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.
