i did exactly what they did. i googled everything 2 try and fix it. trying 2 install a new wininet folder and everything but it didnt let me
i can only get on the internet. and not regular internet exsplorer. only firefox. and i cant view anything with active x or like youtube videos on firefox. and i.e gives me a INTERNET CANT BE DISPLAYED page. i tried redgistry booster 2. and all the others couldnt get installed. like spybot and avg.
and i have vista home premium
and im on a college campus if that helps any. thank you!

When did you install Panda? Did the problem start about the time you installed or updated Panda?

Where did you get the Panda installer? (from Panda web site, other major download site, warez site?)



YOu are runing an outdated version of HiJackThis.


Please delete the version of HiJackThis.exe you have installed, then download the new version from here:
http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/th.../HJTInstall.exe

Double Click on the HJTInstall.exe file. It will be installed to the default location of C:\Program File\Trend Micro\HiJackThis\

Run HiJackThis, scan, save the log, then post the new log in this thread.

Uninstall Panda using Add/Remove Programs, then reboot and let me know what is happening. Panda is the common link in both logs.

If Panda is indeed the problem, then check with their website to see if others are reporting the same issue. IBe sure you install an AV if you hold off on Panda. AVG, Avast, and Avira all offer good, free AV that will do in the interim.

i got the installer from a disk. the original panda disk. im registered and everything. when my comp crashed once b4 they recomended panda. and now that i remember panda updated and thats when everything messed up. ill get the new version of hijackthis and put it up here.

The Add/Remove Programs did not completely remove all the Panda entries. Use the uninstaller they provide on this page:http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/support/card?id=41209&idIdioma=2

You'll find it listed in the section: "To automatically uninstall the program"

Then run HiJackTHis again, and post the new log in this thread. Also, advise if any of the original problems still exist.

ok so it wont let me do what panda says do because i have it uninstalled allready.

so how do i reformat my computer w/o the vista disks????

because i bought my laptop and it allready came with the os.

Check the documentation for your laptop. Most new computers sold today come with a recovery partition. Using that partition, you can restore your computer to factory release. The documentation should tell you how to access the recovery partition. Your online help may also have that information.

Many manufacturers have a set of recovery disks that you can purchase. Its a worthwhile cost. If the hard drive dies, then the recovery partition is of no value.
