for about a week, every time i try to isntall a program (any program), error messages about msiexec.exe would appear and i could not complete the installation. The error messages consists of somethign like this:

The instruction at "0x00861113" referenced memory at "0x007340a8". The memory could not be "read".

i don't know whether my CPU's overclocked or not, i got this computer 4 months ago and the package description didn't say anything about overclocking...

i think my friend helped me fixed the problem by having me run services.msc and checking the box "allow service to interact with desktop" in the log on tab of properties for windows installer. Thanks for your help anyways!
