Help!

Norton keeps popping up with:

Norton Internet Worm Protection has detected and blocked an intrusion attempt.
Intrusion: HTTP LOP Toolbar Activity
Intruder: BROOKSTON(192.168.1.102)(1124)
Risk Level: High
Protocol: TCP
Attacked IP: ads.dns-look-up.com(64.34.228.126)
Attacked Port: http(80)

This started after downloading a p2p torrent program. Stupid I know...

I've run spybot, adaware, and scanned with norton. The worm popup is still coming up.

This is my logfile from Hijackthis.

In between posting the log file and receiving your reply I uninstalled a program called CiD Help. This managed to stop the worm attacks from being announced by Norton.

Upon following your instructions the entries were no longer found by Hijackthis, so I wasn't able to "fix" them using the program.

I do wonder, however, if I have a myriad of other problems. I've been using msconfig to turn off all the startup items that used to start up and slow down my computer. I restarted normally and did a new hijackthis log. I wonder if there isn't some other malware on my computer. Here is the new log file:

Any suggestions?

Thank you very much.
LoPhatPhuud
There are two more LOP infections to be removed. When you run HiJackThis gain, please be sure that all the programs are turned on in msconfig. If you feel its necessary, you can use msconfig to disable programs after we are done.

Reboot in Safe Mode* and run HiJackThis. <-- IMPORTANT

Press the 'Scan' button and when done check the following items in HijackThis:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [memo site kind that] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Grid Blue Memo Site\warn title.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Else Barb Log That] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Enc safe that grid\spam date idol.exe

Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked.

While still in Safe Mode*, delete the following: (you may need to show hidden files**)
(Files specified without a full path will be located in C:\Windows\ or C:\Windows\System32\)
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Grid Blue Memo Site\ <--delete entire folder,
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Enc safe that grid\ <--delete entire folder,

*How to Boot into Safe mode:
http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsafe.htm

**Show Hidden and System files and folders: http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

Also, uncheck the boxes for hiding known file extensions and hiding protected operating system files. We want to see it all. When we finish here, it would be a good idea to rehide the protected operating system files but leave the rest to be shown.

Reboot in normal mode

Run HiJackThis again and post a new log in this thread.

I've done as you've said. Thank you.

The last HJT log was clean but let's check a Startup log to be sure.

Please download SilentRunners from here:
http://www.silentrunners.org/Silent%20Runners.zip

Unzip it to the desktop and double-click on it.
Silent Runners will ask if you want to skip the supplementary search.
Please select 'No' to include them.

The program will take longer to run, but will give us more information.

If you get any kind of warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run.

When the scan is finished, a message will pop up and a logfile will have been created on the desktop.
The logfile is named 'Startup Programs' by default and will be located where the program is.

Please post the entire contents of this logfile for me to see.
This is a "lo-fi" version of our main content. To view the full version with more information, formatting and images, please click here.
