There is no AntiVirus program installed on this computer!! You mention AVG, but that is the AntiSpyware program, not the AntiVirus! AVG also has a free AV. Whatver your choice, install one now!

Also, you Java runtime is out of date. Current is 1.6 update 1. You can download it from here: http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

Note: Be sure to remove all prior versions, using Add/Remove Programs, before you install the new one. Reboot after removal and prior to installation.



Reboot in Safe Mode* and run HiJackThis. <-- IMPORTANT

Press the 'Scan' button and when done check the following items in HijackThis:

thanx lo just a quick update on my sisters comp as i haven't been to see her i also had to get loads of updates for her comp including SP2. Will post another log as soon as i get availabilty to her computer

First:
Reboot in Safe Mode* and run HiJackThis. <-- IMPORTANT

Press the 'Scan' button and when done check the following items in HijackThis:
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customi...fo/bt_side.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customi...arch.yahoo.com/

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [support active help name] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\hideerrorsupportactive\Baitlocks.exe


Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked.


While still in Safe Mode*, delete the following: (you may need to show hidden files**)
(Files specified without a full path will be located in C:\Windows\ or C:\Windows\System32\)
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\hideerrorsupportactive\ <--delete entire folder,

Also, uncheck the boxes for hiding known file extensions and hiding protected operating system files. We want to see it all. When we finish here, it would be a good idea to rehide the protected operating system files but leave the rest to be shown.

Reboot in normal mode

Run HiJackThis again and post a new log in this thread.
