Are you going to finish up this time? Because otherwise there is not really a point to me helping...

I see that you didn't follow my last instructions.
Hunter
See this thread for the last instruction given.

http://gladiator-antivirus.com/forum/index...c=47670&hl=

You have big problems Maximillius. You have even more infections now. You not only are running a PC that has no AntiVirus and AntiTrojan protection and many of those programs are free..you also are downloading every dumb free program you can find and NOW your PC is not only infected..YOU are infecting others since your PC has been taken over as a BOT clone infecting other people on the internt. :(

Trojan.Peacomm

http://www.symantec.com/security_response/...-99&tabid=2

May then download and execute the following:

217.107.217.187/[REMOVED]/game0.exe - copy of Trojan.Abwiz.F
81.177.3.169/[REMOVED]/game1.exe - copy of W32.Mixor.Q@mm
81.177.3.169/[REMOVED]/game2.exe - copy of W32.Mixor.Q@mm
81.177.3.169/[REMOVED]/game4.exe - copy of W32.Mixor.Q@mm

http://www.symantec.com/enterprise/securit...ng_a_peert.html

Trojan.Peacomm: Building a Peer-to-Peer Botnet

The executable drops a system driver (wincom32.sys, also detected as Trojan.Peacomm), which injects some payload and hidden threads directly into the services.exe process, using a sophisticated technique similar to Rustock (see Mimi Hoang’s blog and Elia Florio’s blog). However, in spite of its name, wincom32.sys driver is not a "real" rootkit as it does not hide its presence or its registry keys in the system.

Once the computer is infected, Trojan.Peacomm attempts to establish peer-to-peer communication on UDP port 4000 with a small list of IP addresses, in order to download and execute more malicious files. If you use a personal firewall with egress filtering, you will be notified that the services.exe process is attempting to connect to a remote address on this port. Symantec’s Threat Management System shows a spike in traffic for UDP port 4000:

When it manages to connect to any of these initial IP addresses, it receives a list of additional IP addresses of infected machines and adds them to its list of available peers, building up a distributed network to aid in the download of more malware. The Trojan also keeps a "blacklist" of unsuitable peers. Part of this encrypted P2P configuration is stored in a file peers.ini stored in the %System% folder.

Currently the malware being downloaded is as follows:

game0.exe: A downloader + rootkit component – detected as Trojan.Abwiz.F
game1.exe: Proxy Mail Relay for spam which opens port TCP 25 on the infected machine – detected as W32.Mixor.Q@mm
game2.exe: Mail Harvester which gathers mail addresses on the machine and post them as 1.JPG to a remote server – detected as W32.Mixor.Q@mm
game3.exe: W32.Mixor.Q@mm
game4.exe: It contacts a C&C server to download some configuration file – detected as W32.Mixor.Q@mm

From a malware writer’s point of view, this strategy of using peer-to-peer communication presents clear advantages over the traditional botnet method of one (or a few) Command & Control server(s). First and foremost, it minimizes the chances of losing the botnet if you "cut the head" by bringing down the C&C server or redirecting the traffic. It also helps spread the load that such downloads would impose on a single server.

Maximillius
Java Runtime that I downloaded from the site is corrupt.
Maximillius
I think we should start from the beginning. I am feeling overwhelmed by all of this. Reason I couldn't finish before is I lost internet access for like 3 weeks, I just got internet back. A lot of programs come up as corrupt when I download them or IE7 doesn't allow me to download them. It's really annoying. Here's a hijack this log

Hi Maximillius,

Click "Start", "Run...", type "services.msc" and click on "OK". Search for Microsoft authenticate service. Change the startup type to "Disabled".

Restart your computer.

First download AVG Anti-Spyware from HERE and save that file to your desktop.
This is a 30 day trial of the program
  1. Once you have downloaded AVG Anti-Spyware, locate the icon on the desktop and double-click it to launch the set up program.
  2. Once the setup is complete you will need run AVG Anti-Spyware and update the definition files.
  3. On the main screen select the icon "Update" then select the "Update now" link.
    • Next select the "Start Update" button, the update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
  4. Once the update has completed select the "Scanner" icon at the top of the screen, then select the "Settings" tab.
  5. Once in the Settings screen click on "Recommended actions" and then select "Quarantine".

  2. Lauch AVG Anti-Spyware by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
  3. Select the "Scanner" icon at the top and then the "Scan" tab then click on "Complete System Scan".
  4. AVG Anti-Spyware will now begin the scanning process, be patient this may take a little time.
Once the scan is complete do the following:
  5. If you have any infections you will prompted, then select "Apply all actions"
  6. Next select the "Reports" icon at the top.

Also post a new log from HijackThis.
Maximillius
I believe that the virus is stopping me from downloading clean files...if that is possible. So I can't get AVG antispyware? I tried for an hour...but i did load up in safe mode and ran an antivirus program called MultiVirus Cleaner 2006. It didn't find anything.

Hi Maximillius,

Ok... Then we'll continue with the log. I had hoped that AVG would have cleaned it a bit.

Please download SmitfraudFix

Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Maximillius
I used SpyHunter to get this log...some reason your link didn't work.

Hi Maximillius,

QUOTE
I used SpyHunter to get this log...some reason your link didn't work.
What happened when you clicked that link? Because it works here. The link I gave is to a program that will take care of at least one of the infections in your log. It seems that everytime I ask you to download something, it doesn't work. Can you download anything?
Hunter
To get smithfraud try right clicking on this link..

http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.exe

then save it as a target to your desktop.

if you can not do that tell us what happened..maybe your IE needs corrective settings.
Maximillius
Internet Explorer could not download SmitfraudFix.exe from siri.free.fr.
A connection with the server could not be established.

That is the message I get when I try to download that file. And with the other links to the smitfraud fix, I can download the file, but it's ALWAYS corrupt.
Bobbi Flekman
Hey Maximillius,

Judging by what is happening here (the dead downlaods and all), I can only advise to reformat the system and start from scratch. You have a few "simple infections", the backdoors that Hunter also remarked upon, something is killing your downloads, so I doubt that this will work... But I'll give it one more try.

Please follow the instructions at this page to get rid of the Trojan.

http://www.symantec.com/security_response/...-99&tabid=3

It might be that everything will be easier to get to once that one is gone.

If that doesn't work I was going to do some rootkit scans, but (once again) I doubt that you wil be able to download the needed programs.

Good luck.
Hunter
I also suggest you reformat and reinstall you had been set up on your PC to start doing a DOS attack on Servers

Storm Worm DDoS Attack
URL: http://www.secureworks.com/research/threats/storm-worm
Date: February 8, 2007
Author: Joe Stewart
A number of anti-spam websites came under a distributed denial-of-service attack on January 12, 2007. The trojan responsible for the attack was one of several dropped onto systems infected by a seeding of the email virus which later came to be called "Storm Worm", also W32/Small.DAM and Trojan.Peacomm.

P2P Botnet Functionality
When Storm Worm runs, it attempts to link up with other infected hosts via peer-to-peer networking. Through this conduit it gets a URL which points to a second-stage executable, which in turn downloads additional stages onto the infected system.

game0.exe - Backdoor/downloader
game1.exe - SMTP relay
game2.exe - Email address stealer
game3.exe - Email virus spreader
game4.exe - DDoS attack tool
game5.exe - Updated copy of Storm Worm dropper
