I have a program that keeps launching and closing itself. This happens at random. I tried to catch it popping up in task manager, but was unable to. I ran the newest version of ad-aware and this program still keeps popping up. The only sign of the program I have is when it shows up in the program bar at the bottom of the screen. It will take my focus away from other programs as well.

Ok... I guess that you really don't have the missing entries. Let's take a look.

Do you know which program that is? The HijackTHis log looks clean.

Please create a list of programs that can be removed using Add/Remove Programs
Start HiJackThis. Click "Config"->"Misc Tools"->"Open Uninstall Manager" ->"Save List".
Save the log to a convenient location, and copy it into this thread.

I have no idea what the program is. It doesn't show a name when it pops up, and I haven't been able to catch anything through task manager because it comes and goes to quickly.

After posting my listing I noticed a program that I did not recognize. The overland program. I did a search on it and here is what I found. It seems that this is the program that is mysteriously popping up. Here is the link with the info that I found http://www.castlecops.com/postx126842-0-0.html

Based on what you said.

Open "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel. Select the following items:

• overland

and click "Remove" for each of them. If one of the uninstallers wants to download stuff or needs an Internet connection, skip that one and report them to me.

PLease post a log from HijackThis after this and check to see whether the popups have ceased.
