AVG has found this virus Gaelicum A. I followed AVG instructions downloaded a fix which seemed to work but this week AVG it has found it again. I have cleaned it again but is it still lurking somewhere? please advise. Here is the log

There is nothing in your HJT log. Where does AVG say the file is located??

Hi There

AVG scan today finds nothing, so it seems to have gone, but why is AVG letting the virus install itself in the first place. If I buy the latest AVG total internet security would that be better than the free version at stopping viruses installing?

The 'pay for' version of Security programs (AV, AT, AS, etc) are usually have more features than the free version. In some cases it is the addition of real time protection. You need to evaluate your needs, and go from there. For Anti Virus, you need a real time defense, and the same for AntiSpyware. Anti Trojan depends on what AV you select.

I am not a fan of Security Suites, at the present time, but who knows about the future. I run KAV6.0 and Windows Defender and Comodo Firewall for realtime protection.
