You've been here before. And you've undoubtedly been told to update your Windows!

So go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and following the prompts. You may need to do this more than once.

If you are using Windows XP, and am not on SP-2. Do not update to that yet. The update to SP-2 can fail when the system has malware on it. It may even leave your computer unbootable!. You can update to SP-1a though

Your HiJackThis log shows that Windows XP has not been updated with SP1, SP2 and later critical updates. These are needed to properly secure your computer. Before we proceed further, please run the diagnostic program at the following link, and post the results in this thread.

I must be doing something wrong. I downloaded all of the Windows updates except service pack 2. before the last post.

I ran the program you linked, and I tried to copy it by clicking copy but nothing happend, I tried downloading the program and running it from its site but no matter what it won't copy. Should I just write it down on a peice of paper?

when i run the mgadiag, a screen comes up telling me what the the program does then I click continue, and it takes me to a Windows Validation tab which containes, product keys, product key hash, windows license type, ect. on the bottom where it had said continue in the previous screen it now says copy. i have clicked it and nothing happens, The way i read you post I thought you wanted a copy of the results from this program.

How long have you waited for the program to come back? Because either your Windows is not legit, which means I cannot help you. Or it means that your system is so messed up I cannot help because I cannot get everything out.

ok I think I am lost. I went to this http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012. and downloaded the mga diagnostic program. then i started it and read the about section, after that I click continue, it then took me to the windows tab, where I clicked copy, and nothing happens. I have since tried this on 3 computers and the same thing happens everytime. I have clicked copy on every tab in the program and nothing has happened, useing all 3 computers. Am I doing something wrong? where is it supposed to copy too?
