Hello this is my mom's at home computer, which just so happens to be a Toshiba laptop a few years old.

This computer has continuously been running slower and slower and is now almost unbearably slow.
Unfortunately this comuter does not have spybot or adaware like my own since mom was told to uninstall them so zone alarm security suite would work properly.

There isn't much showing on your log of active malware, although a possible sign of a coolwebsearch infection (could be hidden)

1. Scan with HijackThis and checkmark the following, then press *fix checked*

2. Get a free online Antivirus scan at the following. This is an important step to do even if you ran your resident AV program, as some malware can disable the program currently installed on your PC. The online AV scanners can sometimes reveal infections your present AV can not. Use both scanners. Do a full system scan, delete any infected files found, and choose to save the log at the end.

3. Download, install, update and run the following free tool.Run this tool in SAFE MODE

When running the scan, record exactly the details of any problems turned up.

This is a special tool for removing CoolWebSearch and its variants.

(a) Download and run CWShredder.
(b) Click the "Check for Update" button and download any update found.
© Reboot to SAFE MODE
(d) Click the "Fix" button to run it. It will scan for and delete any bad files found.
(e) Exit and reboot your PC. Run it again using the *Fix* button to make sure it got everything.

Post back please with the results from the Trend Micro CWShredder, Panda Active Scan report and a fresh HijackThis log.

I did the scans and not much turned up on zonelabs, just
Atdmt
Hitbox
Questionmarket
and it found and removed those 3 things.

CWShredder did not find anything at all.

The pandascan found 142 things and is attached to save room. Just so you know panda was run befor zonelabs found and deleted those 3 things.

Your time and help is much appreciated, this computer is frustrating enough to be thrown out a window!

It's important to first remove the following programs:

Uninstall from Add/remove programs in the control panel:

NewDotNet (or new.net)
DelFin
MyWay

After removing those reboot the PC

Using any other method may cause the computer to lose it's ability to connect to the internet.

You can manually delete these files.

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\cd_clint.dll

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\winnet.ini

The rest of the items on the list from Panda were cookies which can also be manually deleted.

Unfortuntely The only one of those three that were in the add/remove list was deflin and when I tried to remove it, it just said this file does not exist or is not a valid unistallation log file.

I was not sure wether it was still save to remove those other things besides the cookies so I didnt do anything else.

Is there some other way to remove those things?

All that Panda found were just traces of those programs, so it would be ok to manually delete what files Panda found. But I do not see any evidence of an active infection that would be cause slowdowns. So it might be due to something other than malware at this point.

See I was afraid of that. Cause the only other thing I can think of is to try and back up everything and reformat. I don't even know if we have all the copies of the cd's that we used to install everything though :(.
