Not sure what if anything you can help with that. the same thing happened 6 months ago to My wifes account and only solution was to start a new account. Real shame though, I have had the same account for 9 years and now have know way to let the hundreds of friends/associates I have made over the years... End of gripe.

Thanks for the reply and all the help you give, it really is priceless to have someone willing to take the couple of minutes to show us web rats how to figure out these kind of things. Appreciate it.
As for the whole Yahoo thing, Yes I contacted Yahoo support but hold little hope. When the same occured to My wife it seems the hijacker not only - Read our board rules -s the password, they then change the password and edit the information such as date of birth and zip code, the two identifiers Yahoo uses to verify your Identity if your password has problems.
oh well at least some good comes out of it and I have found ya'all, which brings me to the newest logfile from "Hijackthis".

As for the whole Yahoo thing, Yes I contacted Yahoo support but hold little hope. When the same occured to My wife it seems the hijacker not only - Read our board rules -s the password, they then change the password and edit the information such as date of birth and zip code, the two identifiers Yahoo uses to verify your Identity if your password has problems.

This is a good time to set up protection against further attacks. Read the article behind this link "How did I get infected". If you don't already have them, you need an antivirus that is updated, a good firewall for example Sygate Personal Firewall or Kerio Personal Firewall or ZoneLabs Zone Alarm, a spyware blocker like SpywareBlaster and also IE-Spyads and spyware detection (Ad-aware SE and SpyBot S+D). All of these have good free versions available... be very cautious about any security software that advertises in popups or other intrusive ways, they are not only usually useless, but also often have malware in them....
Instead of Internet Explorer, use a different browser like Opera, Mozilla or Firefox.
Last, but not least, you need to keep Windows and Internet Explorer up to date by getting all the latest security patches that protects your computer.
This can be accessed by going to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and following the prompts. If you are running Windows XP get updated to SP-2
Please post back if you are still having any problems....

Bobbi, Thanks for all the help and the tips. I used to think I was pretty savvy using three diferent spyware scanners/removers, Norton scans daily and I use trend on the weekend for a back up. I also have Ccleaner set to dump frequently, plus the registered version of '"Registry Mechanic" and now to top off My arsenal..... Hijackthis.
Your help was invaluable in pinpointing potetial problem areas and your explanations were clear and basic which took a load off while panicing ....
