Quickly off the top of my head I see you have the windows indexing service running, that can really slow things down.


IF you want to stop that service go to start >Run and type
services.msc
Press enter

When the services console opens find Indexing Service on the list and double click on to to bring up its properties page.

Stop the service and set its startup type to manual.

Click Search ont he Start Menu

Click the Change Preferences link.
Click Without Indexing Service.

You'll then see some radio buttons. Be sure No do hot enable Indexing service is selected.

Press apply and ok.

How much room, is left on the drive? You need 15% to run Defrag.

Try running chkdsk and then doing a defrag.


To run Chkdsk go to start >Run and type

cmd.exe
Press enter

Copy this command to your clipboard:
chkdsk /r /f

When the prompt appears Right click in the window and click paste on the menu.

Press enter.
You'll be told that the drive is locked and asked if you want to run the check at next boot. Choose yes.

Restart and allow it to run.

When you get back, go to Start >Run and type
Eventvwr.msc

Press enter


You might also check to see which services you can safely not run.

Have a look at these pages. BE CAREFUL! Disabling some services can render Windows unbootable!
