The line included in the topic comes up everytime I go to shut down WinXP Home SP2. I also get scripting errors when running Norton Internet Security 2005. I get scripting errors when I try to print in IE 6. My search function does not work. I cannot access Disk Defragmenter. In IE 6 I cannot open new windows or go to new links directly from a link posted on a website. Also, I tried to download Adaware SE and nothing happens. I have run spybot and spyware doctor. Sounds like you have an Operating system Problem. When did this all start? Can you remember if you had performed any new installs, updates or uninstalls?


Run the following commands from start/run. Run each line individually. After each run, you should see a short message stating the command was successful.

regsvr32 Urlmon.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll

What happens when you try to access defrag? Do you get an error message? And if so, what is it please?

I ran all the dll's you listed and is said the all succeeded. When I go to run Defrag out of the start menu or program files nothing happens. There is no pop-up window and the cursur hourglass does not even kick in.

In your first post, you mentoined a whol list of problems you had.

Could you please go back and see if any ar still there? I'd like to see where you stand now.

Are you using Windows Defrag or another program and if so, what program are you using?

I still have those same issues, and I have been trying to run the Windows Disk Defragmenter. I tried to print this webpage and the script error was as follows:

one concern I haven't thought of until now is that my 40 gig harddrive is about 90% full and maybe that is my problem.

For the printing problem go to Start >Run

Paste in this command and press enter:
regsvr32 iepeers.dll

Wait for the success message.

I would suggest after you do this that you go to start >Run

Paste in this command and press enter:
sfc /scannow


Restart Windows and see if you still have so many problems.


You may be prompted for your install CD.


To defrag you need 15% free space on the drive. But to just open defrag you don't.
