Hi
I have been infected with the winik.sys bug and have read, with interest the entries on this forum especially the one posted by shemesat.
My system showed that I had the trojan in the two locations:
c:\programfiles\txpotxxt and
c:\windows\system32\drivers
and my first scan with hijackthis showed that i had the following running:
[various names] c:\programfiles\txpotxxt\bcADDkBN.exe
I ran the tool "http://secured2k.home.comcast.net/tools/Wi...tKitRemover.exe."
and this seemed successful in removing the two folders.
Then from hijackthis i selected the entries for the bcADDkBN.exe and selected fix.
This seems to have removed them from the log as well.
However try as i might i cannot seem to clean up my registry
I have followed most of the entries posted between Bobbi Flekman and shemesat(adapting the registry ones to my own computer) but to no avail.
I've tried merging the reg file containing
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root\LEGACY_WINIK]
and even tried SysInternals P-- The nicest hobby on Earth ;) --ec.
but no luck.
Please could you have a look for me
