Hi TheSilentMan,

You have MSConfig on, more on that later.
You have a LOP infection.

Set Windows to view hidden and system files:
Open the Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options - View [tab]:

Scroll down to the "Files and Folders" section.
Select: "Display the contents of system folders".

Scroll down to the "Hidden Files and Folders" section.
Select: "Show hidden files and folders", Ok the prompt
Uncheck: "Hide file extensions for known file types"
Uncheck: "Hide protected operating system files" Ok the Prompt, click Apply

Click the "Apply to all Folders" button. Close Windows Explorer.

After you're cleaned, please "rehide" them again.
_ _ _ __

Open Hijackthis, click Scan, then put a check next to the following entries:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://uwddgjmdeaspou.com/PStPJ_IE_QRlNQ/N...TwWcjtQx2Nk.php
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customi...arch.yahoo.com/

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customi...arch.yahoo.com/
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customi...fo/bt_side.html
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customi...arch.yahoo.com/

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customi...arch.yahoo.com/
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WildTangent CDA] "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\GameDrvr.exe" /startup "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0500.dll"
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [CHIN CAMP] C:\DOCUME~1\Richard\APPLIC~1\FLAWMP~1\Owns Beep.exe

Now Close all open Windows and browsers (have only HJT open) and click "Fix Checked".

Then, reboot to Safe mode (tap F8 while restarting), and delete this folder in bold:

C:\Documents and Settings\Richard\Application Data\FLAWMP~1\ <-- there will be more of a name here, but the foilder starts with FLAWMP

Then reboot normally, and post a new HJT log.

I see you have one or more items disabled via Msconfig, in your last HJT log. Did you use "Selective Startup" to get to Safe Mode?
If this is one of the items you were troubleshooting relating to your problem, you need to enable that entry, as HijackThis can not "see" disabled Startup (tab) items, reboot and rescan with HijackThis. Otherwise ignore.

Start>Run>type 'msconfig' (no quotes) and select "Normal" for start mode..
TheSilentMan
the only stuff thtat's disabled at start-up is some itunes crap that i don't like starting up each time. that's deffo no problem :)

thanks a lot for your time my friend, it's much appreciated. so there's notihing in my log to show i have that trojan i listed in my post (if that would show up in a log anway?)? if so taht's good news and my virus scanner quarenteened it safely :)

i forgot i had that LOP crap on my laptop too. it's been lying dormant for over a year now (when i first got broadband on this laptop, i hadn't got any net security set up, stupidly. the LOP stuff came rushing through and infected me, and although i managed to mostly contain it, i knew there were a coupla files hidden in flaw mpeg folders around my HD (although they don't seem to have affected me).

thanks a lot for telling me how to get rid of the da** things - i'll try it tommorrow or over the weekend (need to do some work and sleep - it's nearly 3am tease.gif) i'll be sure to post back with new reports. and i'll try to stick around on these forums in the hope of vastly boosting my computer knowledge so i can help people out better too :)

ah, i always wondered what that da** GameDriver was....
Autodad
Hi,

You're welcome.

Not all trojans show up in the HJT log. There are other tools we can use to find some "hidden infections".
If your A/V isn't finding it, then yes, it's probably quarantined.

No rush to do the fixes, but post back when you can so we can continue.
