I ran Adaware SE Personal and it identified a file named "T?skmgr.exe" as malware on my computer. This file was associated with "Quickclick" or something like that. The Adaware software removed all of the "quickclick" files except the overwritten taskmanager file. Adaware states it cannot be deleted by the program.

I have several questions...

First, in order to fully delete this T?skmgr file would it be sufficient to simply check the boxes next to each line that the file appears?

Two, once this file is deleted will I need to re-install the taskmgr.exe file to ensure my windows XP remains operational?

Three, can I delete this bugger from the get go without ramifications?

Four, any other things you might see in the log that might need addressing?

Well, I went ahead and disabled my system restore, did the Adaware thing, re-ran Hijack this, deleted the files associated with that surly little malware overwrite and that seems to have taken care of the issues.

The system is coming up clean.

I'd still appreciate it if someone could look through the logfile to see if there might be anything else in there that's going to be troublesome in the future.

I don't like the Backweb software and realize I have Backweb lite. If I removed that from the system would it affect my machine's operating environment?

Taskmgr.exe is a protected file and if you had a good copy in dllcache it would be replaced if you accidentally removed it.

The other is not the same file and it was in your running processes before.
Backweb is not needed for your system to run properly.
