Run Ewido and allow it to clean. Save a log when asked. Post that log when you get back and reply.

Restart into Regular Windows.

Go to C:\windows\temp
Select all and delete all.

Run hijackthis and post the new log.Post a startuplist too please. In Hijackthis press the Config Button
Click Misc Tools
Check both boxes next to the Generate StartupList log and then click the generate startuplist log button.

Sorry. You're right abut Ewido. But it appears we got the infection and you are clean. A little housekeeping now.

Get a very thorough Kaspersky scan to catch any orhaned(inactive) files.

Let me now how that goes. Then we'll do a system restore flush and some security suggestions.

I deleted the file, but I went to download.com and attempted to download Kaspersky antivirus and it keeps freezing my computer. Maybe I am downloading the wrong file.

You had originally said the system was very slow and a lot of not responding messages were coming up. Has that been resolved?

I'll turn it back on. Yea, I was getting a bunch of "not responding" messages when closing out folders, programs, etc. Should I look at my startup menu? Should I run hijack again?

Are you still having those not responding issues or have they been resolved since the cleanup? Your last logs looked clean.

Bad news...explorer quit responding this morning and I am getting error messages for a couple of things we deleted. I'll try the security that you advised.

Explorer crashes are common when there is Spyware aboard. And explorer will crash for other reasons too. But let's do this.

Ok, I got that one for 'spydoctor'. Yes those error messages are for missing files. I deleted them and it is as if the computer is looking for them and of course cannot find them.

By the way, when I say 'explorer' what I mean is this...suppose I am trying to open my settings/control panel...there will occasionally/frequently be a delay and eventually I will hit cntrl/alt/delete and it will say 'explorer(not responding)'.

You posted a Startuplist with only the defaults showing. Please run it again using these instructions:

Post a startuplist too please. In Hijackthis press the Config Button
Click Misc Tools
[b]Check both boxes next to the Generate StartupList log and then click the generate startuplist log button.

And run hijackthis again too for a new log.

Letr me know how you do and if the errors are now gone.

I see you posted while I typed. Now that informatoin about Control Panel is helpful. Sometimes when one of the cpl files is corrupt, it will hang explorer. If this continues after the Spyware Cleanup, there's a way to check it out.

Or was Control Panel just an example?

Does this happen with any other folders? It oculd be a bho. they all load each time you open a folder too. Spyware bho's can cause just this problem. So can corrupt files for even non Spyware bho's.

Let's try something. Disable the Spybot BHO and see if your problem goes away.

If not, then let's try an Internet Explorer Repair.

Go to Control Panel >Add REmove Programs and select Internet Explorer. Click Remove. Three options will appear. Select Repair. Let me know how it goes.
