Full Version: Computer shut down randomly
Gladiator Security Forum > Malware Help Forum > HELP! Think you are Infected?

My computer is shutting down by itself randomly. Usually I hear the hard drive spur up and then it shuts down. Any work I was doing is lost and once it does happen I cannot get computer to stay on for more than 30-40 seconds before it shuts down again. If I leave it alone for 10 -15 minutes it works fine for some time until it shuts down again and the process starts over. Very annoying and I need help please.

Many of the infections we see lately can be removed via Add/Remove programs, or they at least have an entry there. HiJackThis has the ability to get a list of the programs that have a registered uninstaller.

Please create a list of programs that can be removed using Add/Remove Programs
Start HiJackThis
Press 'Config'
Press 'Misc Tools'
Press 'Open Uninstall Manager'
Press 'Save List'
Save the log to a convenient location
Copy the log and post its contents in this thread

If you do not make that your next step before you even start cleaning your PC with Hijackthis or many of the other Antispyware products you could lose your internet connection and/or have a harder time cleaning off those particular items.
