ok. I keep getting the comp slowing down for no reason, the net just crashes sometimes when the isp says there are no problems and i have unusual programs loading themselves up for no reason. Ive had drwatson and word just randomly load up in the middle of me doing something for an example.

Oh yes (edit), one thing that keeps happening that is bothering me is when the comp first loads up, i open task manager and close all the real player update programs and the like but sometimes when i try to load task manager, it keeps closing due to an unexpected error. Ive had it where ive not been able to get it to load up for about 5 mins before...which bothers me...

I had a recurring javabyte virus for a while but i scanned with trend micro and it seems to have gone now. I also ran adaware and there doesnt seem to be any spyware on the comp atm.

My main problem is the fact that i ran hijackthis and noticed some things i didnt recognise from the last time i ran it. I know about bpk though, i installed that myself. The F2 entry, a couple of no file entries and some others are what have been bothering me.

If someone could help by identifying a problem if there is one and help me clean up my log please, that would be great :thumb:

Then close all windows, and browsers, except HijackThis. Tell HijackThis to "Fix checked".

Restart your computer in Safe Mode. How do I Safe Boot my computer?

Show hidden files. How do I show hidden files?
At the end if the fix you can return the files to hidden status if you want.

Delete the following folders in red (it could be that they are deleted already):

ok, ive downloaded a newer version of avg now and im scanning with it. will post log when finished scan.

bpk, or perfect keylogger is a program i myself installed so there are no probs with that.

WF is supposedly windows firewall but when i put it in the malware scanner, it detected some worrying stuff. Ill put the various results and the packers result below.

Right, i ran the new avg and wow. Out of 70,000 files it found over 500 instances of the I Worm Bagle virus, around 5 dialers and the WF virus posted above...ouch

Hi Redslymm,

If you installed the keylogger then it's okay. WF.exe is not the Windows Firewall. From the Jotti log I understand it is a virus, so I would get rid of it. WildTangent can be reinstalled if needed, but it uses information from you to deliver ads.

This log is clean!

This is a good time to set up protection against further attacks. Read the article behind this link "How did I get infected". If you don't already have them, you need an antivirus that is updated, a good firewall for example Kerio Personal Firewall or ZoneLabs Zone Alarm, a spyware blocker like SpywareBlaster and also IE-Spyads and spyware detection (Ad-aware SE and SpyBot S+D). All of these have good free versions available... be very cautious about any security software that advertises in popups or other intrusive ways, they are not only usually useless, but also often have malware in them....

Instead of Internet Explorer, use a different browser like Opera, Mozilla or Firefox.

Last, but not least, you need to keep Windows and Internet Explorer up to date by getting all the latest security patches that protects your computer.

This can be accessed by going to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and following the prompts. If you are running Windows XP get updated to SP-2
