Shane
G'day fellas,
My Comp has been going great since you last fixed it then all of a sudden it has become really bad. When i start my computer many things pop-up, my computer usage reads to be 100% when i look at performace from "cntrl alt dlt". My internet wont go to much websights either and keeps gettin redirected to other sights.
I have run "cws shredder", "spybot search and destroy", and "Adaware SE personal".
Here is my hijackthis log (which i ran with nothing else open from its own folder) and here is my log.

Kind Regards Shane

I also forgot to add that my internet explorer keeps opening (just a blank page) but under the names of "res:shdoclc.dll/dnserror.htm" & "http://j0r.biz/".

Also when i try to shut down my computer, all these boxes pop up that try to end programs such as "TRd ww.c:\Windows.........." so i cant shut down my computer and have to end up turning it off at the switch each time.

Kind Regards Shane

Hi Shane,

There is a newer version (1.99) of HijackThis than what you are using. Please get the new version from one of these addresses.
http://209.133.47.12/~merijn/files/HijackThis.exe
http://www.mjc1.com/mirror/hjt/
http://downloads.net-integration.net/HijackThis.exe
http://www.computercops.biz/downloads-file-328.html
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/hijackthis.zip

Check your computer with the following free anti-virus/anti-trojan products.

Housecall Anti Virus Panda Anti Virus Trojan Scan

And, here's the link to McAfee AVERT Stinger and instructions for use.

Be sure and put a check in the box by "Auto Clean" before you do the scan. If it finds anything that it cannot clean have it delete it or make a note of the file location, so you can delete it yourself.
Shane
Hello & Thanks for having a look.

Like i said i keep getting redirected to webpages or my computer will just lock up. So i am unable to run any of the online virus scanners without my comp locking up or getting redirected. I even have trouble coming to this website to put out this post. I was able to download the new Hijackthis and the McAfee scanner from another computer then copy them onto mine.
I ran the McAfee scanner which found and fixed 15 problems, but everytime i run the new Hijackthis, (in safe mode or not in safe mode), during the scan an error message appears which says the following program has encountered and error and has to close. This happens over and over again everytime i try to run Hijackthis.
So the only log i have is from the other day which is from the old Hijackthis.

Also something else i want to add, is that yesterday whilst trying to work on my computer my screen went blue and a message appeared saying "beginning dump of physical memory" along with lots of other stuff but it also said "Windows shut down to avoid any damage". This has happened again today.
And when i cntrl alt dlt, there is many processes running and my computer usage is 100%.

Sorry for mentioning lots but i am starting to worry alot about my computer now.

Kind Regards Shane

(Please Help) :-(
Shane
Hey Fellas,

After the new hijackthis did not work, i went and ran Registry Checker which fixed alot of problems. After using this Hijackthis was able to scan and complete.

Can u please still look at my post before this as their is some other stuff i wrote in their that i wanted you to see.

Here is my newest post.

Thanks fellas

Shane

Hi Shane,

Guess we'll have to do it the hard way... Try to see whether you can do those scans in between...

Wintools may have an entry in the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel. If so, it may be easy to get rid of. If not, there are still ways to remove it from your system.

For either solution:

Restart your computer in Safe Mode. How do I Safe Boot my computer?

Once in Safe Mode:
Click on the Start Button, Control Panel. Double-click on Administrative Tools then on Services.
Look for a service called Wintools for IE Service. double-click it to open, then click the Stop button and change the "Startup type" to Disabled.
(If the service is not there, no worries...all the better!)

Next, right-click on the Windows Taskbar and select Task Manager.
In the Processes tab, look for WToolsA.exe, WToolsS.exe and WSup.exe. If any or all of these exist, right-click on each one and select End Process Tree, and answer affirmatively to any confirmation questions.

At this point, you can check the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel. If there is an uninstaller for Wintools, try running it now. I would still recommend proceeding through the rest of this fix even if there is an uninstaller, however.

Now, please open a command prompt (Start button -> Run, type cmd and click "OK"). at the prompt, type
regsvr32 /u /s "C:\Program Files\Toolbar\toolbar.dll" then <ENTER>.
Then type exit to close the command prompt window.

Now, we can proceed to delete these directories, located at:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\WinTools <-- Delete the BOLD directory.
C:\Program Files\Toolbar <-- Delete the BOLD directory.

Run HijackThis, click on "Scan" and check the boxes next to all these items.

Hello, and thankyou very much for your fast replies.

I have done all you have told me to do so far and now when i turn my computer on my CPU usage is down to 7% instead of 100% like before. I am still curious about when my screen went blue and it said beginning physical dump of memory....if you could just fill me in on that one.

Here is my Latest Log.

Kind Regards and a Big thanks

Shane

There are many reasons why this would happen. So it's not easy to give an answer. In short it comes to this; during initialization (Startup) something went wrong (usually addressing memory by a piece of sofftware). It logs the current layout of the memory and either shuts down or restarts your computer. This screen is known as the BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) and comes to the foreground when something went so wrong it cannot function normally. Hope this helps.

You're running in Safe Mode, can you post a log from Normal mode... Safe Mode doesn't load everything, and what I can't see I can't fix.

Run HijackThis, click on "Scan" and check the boxes next to all these items.

Hi Shane,

This log is clean!

This is a good time to set up protection against further attacks. Read the article behind this link "How did I get infected". If you don't already have them, you need an antivirus that is updated, a good firewall for example Kerio Personal Firewall or ZoneLabs Zone Alarm, a spyware blocker like SpywareBlaster and also IE-Spyads and spyware detection (Ad-aware SE and SpyBot S+D). All of these have good free versions available... be very cautious about any security software that advertises in popups or other intrusive ways, they are not only usually useless, but also often have malware in them....

Instead of Internet Explorer, use a different browser like Opera, Mozilla or Firefox.

Last, but not least, you need to keep Windows and Internet Explorer up to date by getting all the latest security patches that protects your computer.

This can be accessed by going to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and following the prompts. If you are running Windows XP get updated to SP-2

Please post back if you are still having any problems....

And if that blue screen happens again; note what it says so we can find out what means ;)

Happy surfing.
Shane
G'day mate,

First i want to say a real BIG THANKS.
MY comuputer is running great now. ahah.gif ahah.gif ahah.gif

I have now got Mozilla Firefox as my brouser, but internet explorer is still installed, but not being used. I have "spyware blaster" & "IE Spy-ads" which i keep uptodate along with Adaware Se and Spybot S&D.

I have mcafee personal firewall and nortons antivirus 2003, which i keep uptodate.
Would you reccomend me to get one of the free firewalls you mentioned and different virus program or are these fine.

Is there anything elese you think i should do to keep my computer running well??

Kind Regards & Big Thanks

Hi Shane,

what you use is okay. I only recommend a few programs which are free. You're using good alternatives.
