Hello

I need help. I've been battling a programme that no matter how many times i try and delete comes back after 10 minutes. It puts a -- The nicest hobby on Earth ;) --XX shortcut on the desktop and one in the start menu. It creates a folder called WebSiteViewer in the Programme Files folder which contains the 4 files - 123916 (application), 123916 (icon), 123916.dlr, 123916.ban

When it starts up a window that says initialising plugin then opens a window to some porn site. I'm running GuardWall and often the pop-up is blocked but sometimes directs me to some porn site. Once it installed a list of sites in my IE favorites list. Norton's 2003 doesn't pick anything up even with updates, and not in safe mode.

Spybot detects the files as TIBS and I am able to delete them, but a short while later they reappear. Am starting to go a bit crazy. It used to install a new connection called TIBS into the dial-up networking folder but has stopped doing that.

When the plugin installs, the WebsiteViewer folder is empty. I opened the task manager and ended the process for the file wk32.exe, that prompts 123916.exe, to start, ending that process makes the files appear in the WebSiteViewer folder.

I've tried deleting from the registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WebSiteViewer and
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-2025429265-1960408961-839522115-1003\Software\WebSiteViewer

which are the only references I could find to the file. still get revisited.

Please help, I've attached the hijackthis log.

thankyou
cossie

I've tried using Spybot, Spy Sweeper (trial), NoAdware and AdAware SE.

Hi cossie

Watch out for that Noadware program. It is one of the ones listed on the Ripoff Antispyware programs:
Rogue/Suspect Anti-Spyware Products & Web Sites
http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm

You've got this trojan running:

Troj/Dloader-CC
http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojdloadercc.html

Make a copy of these instructions so you have them handy as the next steps need to be done with IE closed.

Next, please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an x in the boxes next to these items, then press *fix checked*

Hi Jane

Thanks for your help. I've deleted all the files you suggested. I have deleted the loaddtraff[1].exe file as well, however I was unable to find the UIUCU.exe file so couldn't delete that.

I've attached the updated HijackThis log, am really grateful for your help so far. I'm in New Zealand so probably our reply times are a bit staggered.

thankyou so much
