Metal Massacre
Hi guys I'm a bit of a newbie here but I was looking for spyware fixes and I came across this site a few times and everyone here seemed so helpful, figured I'd ask hopefully you guys can help me out.

A friend of mine linked to a MSN pplugin which enhances the program, as far as I can tell Messenger Plus 3 is a complete load and my computer went down the tubes soon asthat was installed. Now I uninstalled the actual program, but there are two file folders which won't allow me to delete them (they have hidden processes as far as I can tell) one of which is 64ACEM~.exe also there seem to be two IEXPLORER.EXE processes open which I cannot close at all. It's slowing my computer down immensely and I've scanned with Spybot/Ad-Aware/Spyware Doctor/TDS-3 and I installed and ran Spyware Guard and Spyware Blaster. But to no avail I can't get rid of it. I was hoping some of you guys could help me out. Any programs I should download at the moment, or things I should prepare? Thanks in advance to those that can help me :(

Edit: Theres also another program file that won't let me access it or anything "signgrey" thats the actual program I can't find it's process. The 64ACEM~ it's program is....64 Ace Move. Whenever I even try to right click them explorer ends up having some sort of error. Last but not least I dunno if it helps but I'm on windows 2k.....oh and my Hijack This Log will be in the next post.

Also, uncheck the boxes for hiding known file extensions and hiding protected operating system files. We want to see it all. When we finish here, it would be a good idea to rehide the protected operating system files but leave the rest to be shown.

Reboot in normal mode.

Also, uncheck the boxes for hiding known file extensions and hiding protected operating system files. We want to see it all. When we finish here, it would be a good idea to rehide the protected operating system files but leave the rest to be shown.

Reboot in normal mode.

A very important step to cleaning out adware or a virus is to clear temporary files.

Double Click My Computer (WinXP: Navigate to Start --->My Computer)

You will see an icon representing your harddrive (most likely C: Drive) Right Click on the hard drive icon and click Properties at the
bottom of the fly out window. One the very first tab (General) you will see a button labeled "Disk Cleanup"...click that button.
Make sure the following are checked:
Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files and
Recycle Bin

Click OK and Disk Cleanup will delete those files for you.

It would also be a good idea to clear your Internet Cookies.
These directions are for Internet Explorer.
Click Tools along the top of Internet Explorer and choose Internet Options
On the General Tab press Delete Cookies.

Your temporary files are now cleared.
Perform this action periodically to keep your computer running at peak performance

Ahh thank you so much, I'll do that right now ahah.gif

If you are talking about MSN plus by Patchou you have to be a little careful on install. the MSN plus add-on is actually a very good program, however when you are installing it asks you if you would like to install the sponsor program....the sponsor program is a spyware program.

My advice is read everything when you install The add-on you will quickly find the section i mean... just decline and the add-on only is installed and hey presto no problems.

Ahh you are too kind, although I'm pretty sure I skipped that, it is possible I flubbed. Thanks again though for the help :thumb:

My recommendation is always avoid installing Messenger Plus. The program itself is safe, but comes with LOP if you option to install it.

Whether you install the sponsor software (LOP) or not, it is only a matter of time before LOP and other exploits decide to call your computer home.
