Can you help. I have ran spybot and adaware. I have the most current norton secruity. I keep getting py.exe viruses. Also, the system 32 window keeps opening. Please help me.

First:Before we do anything, please move HiJackThis to a permanent folder. I suggest 'c:\program files\hijackthis\' but any folder other than the Desktop or a temporary folder is fine. This will allow us to use backups to restore entries if necessary

Reboot in Safe Mode* and run HiJackThis.

Check the following items in HijackThis.

Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

While still in Safe Mode*, delete the following: (you may need to show hidden files**)
C:\WINDOWS\irmcxyxy.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\Chris\WebInstall.exe

Also, uncheck the boxes for hiding known file extensions and hiding protected operating system files. We want to see it all. When we finish here, it would be a good idea to rehide the protected operating system files but leave the rest to be shown.

Reboot.

Next:
For the py.exe file:
Download Killbox from here:

Unzip the program to its own folder and run it.
1. Press the folder button to the right of the address bar and navigate to the file you want to delete and select it and press OK.

2. Then from the Action menu, select Delete on Reboot.

3. In the window that opens, select File -> Add File.

4. Repeat steps 1-3 for each file you want to delete.

5. When you have added the final file, select Action -> Process and Reboot from the Add File window.

Thanks so much for responding. I did everything you asked. I had already done some things - so some of it wasn't there to delete. I ran killbox and couldn't find py.exe. I think I might have gotten rid of it. Here is my log now:

Great news, your system is clean.

To reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster and SpyWareGuard and IE/Spyad if you do not already have them installed.

SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard are by JavaCool and both are free programs. SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed and consumes no system resources. SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.
