Seems everyone's getting this one nowadays. Well, my NAV is screwing up and I get the usual error when I restart. Auto-protect is off, and I can't get it back on. I use Adaware regulary, so no problem there. I can't access hotmail, MSN, and windows update gives me an error.

Here's my log:

First:
Please go here and do an AV scan at one (preferably two) of the following:
Panda's Active Scan
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/co...n_principal.htm

Trend Micro (PC-cillin) - Free on-line Scan
http://housecall.antivirus.com

RAV Antivirus Online Scan

eTrust AV web scanner (Computer Associates)

Second:
Remove Messenger Plus via Add/Remove Programs. This is part of your problme since it also installs sypware and hijackers with the actual program. I have marked the entries in your HiJackThis log for removal. If you are successful in uninstalling it, these entries may not be present.

Third:
Check the following items in HijackThis.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ZTgServerSwitch] c:\program files\support.com\client\lserver\server.vbs
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Video Services] explore.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MessengerPlus2] "C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! 2\MsgPlus.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [scvhost] scvhost.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [scvhost.exe] scvhost.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [soundcontrl] soundcontrl.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Video Services] explore.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [scvhost] scvhost.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [scvhost.exe] scvhost.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [soundcontrl] soundcontrl.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MessengerPlus2] "C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! 2\MsgPlus.exe" /WinStart

Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

Reboot in Safe Mode* and delete the following: (you may need to show hidden files**)
c:\program files\support.com\client\lserver\server.vbs
c:\windows\system32\explore.exe
C:\Program Files\Messenger Plus! 2\MsgPlus.exe
c:\windows\systme32\scvhost.exe
c:\windows\system32\soundcontrl.exe

**Show hidden files/folders as per the instructions here http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=190

Also, uncheck the boxes for hiding known file extensions and hiding protected operating system files. We want to see it all. When we finish here, it would be a good idea to rehide the protected operating system files but leave the rest to be shown.

Reboot.

Post another HiJackThis log in this thread for review.

Fourth:
To fix the NAV issue, try this:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.n...nav&svy=&csm=no

And of that fails, this:
