When I try and run Windows Media Program, I receive a message that I'm infected with the Keylog-Briss trojan. My hijack this log follows. I am barley computer literate. Can someone help me remove this so that I can use Windows Media again? Thanks.

Hi Larry,

You log is clean :)

When your AV program pops up the alert, copy down the information on it (all of it - including file name and full path (location). Post that info back here if you wish, or proceed with the following by looking for the named file in the location specified and send it to Network Associates via email

When you get that information, follow these instructions to submit the file to Network Associates as a sample. They will reply back to you with their findings and instructions on what to do if it is indeed infected.

Submit a Sample
http://vil.nai.com/vil/submit-sample.asp

Follow the instructions to submit electronically (easiest) and you would be sending a type file/macro virus (use those directions).

I've checked the write up on that trojan and it does not appear to be running on your PC at all, nor does it seem to be connected to the Windows Media Player so it is possible it is a false alarm and they would need to know to update the virus definitions to fix that in the future updates. If it is infected, as I said they will respond with instructions on what to do.

This is the trojan you named and it's description.

You might do a search though and see if you can find a file by the name of:
A.EXE - if found, please let us know.
