Highlander Girl
I am getting this message runtime error c:program files\commonfiles\symantec shared\ccevtmgr.exe r6025....

I have removed and reloaded my norton antivirus to no avail...
I have had spybot on my computer for quite sometime and run it often. I just ran it and it came back clean. I have downloaded the hack this and here is my print out....

I suspect I have some sort of virus but I can not even get to the symantec website to figure it out. Also, my anti virus is now disabled and I can not get it to enable. I appreciate any help you can offer... very frustrated.. thanks

This looks just like the problem I have!
LoPhatPhuud
For the AV error, check this link: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.n...=&osv=&osv_lvl=

If that does not fix it, do an online AV scan:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp

Then:
Before we do anything, please move HiJackThis to a permanent folder. I suggest 'c:\program files\hijackthis\' but any folder other than the Desktop or a temporary folder is fine. This will allow us to use backups to restore entries if necessary

Check the following items in HijackThis.
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\blank.htm

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [scvhost.exe] scvhost.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [scvhost.exe] scvhost.exe

O8 - Extra context menu item: LimeShop Preferences - file://C:\Program Files\LimeShop\System\Temp\limeshop_script0.htm

Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

Reboot in Safe Mode* and delete the following: (you may need to show hidden files**)
c:\windows\scvhost.exe

*How to Boot into Safe mode: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgen...001052409420406
**Show hidden files/folders as per the instructions here http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=190

Also, uncheck the boxes for hiding known file extensions and hiding protected operating system files. We want to see it all. When we finish here, it would be a good idea to rehide the protected operating system files but leave the rest to be shown.

Reboot.

LoPhatPhuud.... Thanks for the help.. OK here is where I am at before I hang up for the evening and go to bed... I removed and reinstalled my norton using the symantec web sites instructions. This did not fix the issue... I also went to the housecall site and scanned my computer. It came up with one virus

DOS AGOBOT.HM located in c:\windows\system32\drivers\ect\hosts

Now I have not done anything else... but I do need to ask for your help and it is probably a dumb question. How to I move the hack this program from my desktop? Can I just drag and drop it? I know dumb question, but I have always just put things onto my desk top in a folder I designated for downloads.
As I said I am about ready to call it a night as I have a super early day tomorrow... I will probably try to get back on tomorrow evening when I get home. Again thanks for your patience and your help....
LoPhatPhuud
No you cannot drag and drop since it is an executable and dragging will only create a short cut. Either cut and paste into a new location, or delete and re-install.
Highlander Girl
Hello LoPhatPhuud.... well I believe I now have hijackthis correctly on my computer. I deleted the one I had on the desktop and when I do a file search it lists the program as being in c:\program files. I have been trying to do some searching and it seems I now have another virus win32.agobot
Now I do not know if the other one is still there or if it has mutated (if that is even possible) but here is the new hackthis readout... and again.. thank you so much

Ok, you still do not have HiJackThis is its own folder. Please create a folder c:\program files\hjt\'. Then cut and paste HJT from where it is now, to the new folder.

Then:

Please go here and do an AV scan at one (preferably two) of the following:
Panda's Active Scan
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/co...n_principal.htm

Trend Micro (PC-cillin) - Free on-line Scan
http://housecall.antivirus.com

RAV Antivirus Online Scan
http://www.ravantivirus.com/scan/

eTrust AV web scanner (Computer Associates)
http://www3.ca.com/virusinfo/virusscan.aspx

Next:
Use Add/Remove Programs to uninstall LimeShop. It is spyware.

Last:
Check the following items in HijackThis.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [scvhost.exe] scvhost.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Update] mupdate.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [LimeShop] wjview /cp:p "C:\Program Files\LimeShop\System\Code" Main lp: "C:\Program Files\LimeShop
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [scvhost.exe] scvhost.exe

O8 - Extra context menu item: LimeShop Preferences - file://C:\Program Files\LimeShop\System\Temp\limeshop_script0.htm

Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

Reboot in Safe Mode* and delete the following: (you may need to show hidden files**)
c:\window\scvhost.exe (or c:\windows\system32)
c:\windows\mupdate.exe
