Full Version: dialer.6.g trojan (infected?)
Gladiator Security Forum > Malware Help Forum > HELP! Think you are Infected?
happydude
Yesterday I received a AVG message saying I had been infected with a trojan, however I failed to note what the name was(d'oh). I ran an avg scan but the trojan was not detected. I then ran another scan using a diferrent virus program but was still unable to locate it. All I know is that it was in a temporary internet file. So I decided to go back to the original source of infection so I could find out what virus I was dealing with. It happenend to be dialer.6.g which was detected this time round when I ran an AVG scan. I sent it to the virus vault and deleted it(I assume thats the end of that). The problem is that the first time I was infected by the trojan AVG was unable to detect it so I am concerned it still lurking about in my computer.

My log file reads like this:

Great news, your system is clean at last.

To reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster and SpyWareGuard and IE/Spyad.

SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard are by JavaCool and both are free programs. SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed and consumes no system resources. SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.

More info and download is available at:
SpywareBlaster: http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
SpywareGuard: http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareguard.html

IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will several impair attempts to infect your system. It is free.

More info and download is available at:
