Ok, this is going to take a few steps and it is important that you do them as listed.

First:
Using HiJackThis, check all the 'O1' entries.

Press 'Fix Checked'.
Exit HiJackThis but do not reboot.

Second:
Update AdAware to the msot current reference file.

Now do the following:
- Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Scanning Engine:
check: "Unload recognized processes during scanning."

- Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweaks > Cleaning Engine:
Check: "Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."

Press "Scan Now"
- Check option "Use Custom scanning options"
- Check option "Activate In-Depth Scan"
- Press "Select drives\folders to scan"
- Select the active partition which is usually C:

Now press "Next" to let Ad-aware scan your drives...
It will find a number of "bad" files and registry keys.
Right-click in that pane and choose "select all"


Now press "Next" again.
It will ask you whether you'd like to remove all checked items. Click OK.

Finally, close Ad-Aware, and reboot.

Third:
Please Download CoolWebShredder, from
http://www.merijn.org/files/cwshredder.zip
http://www.zerosrealm.com/downloads/CWShredder.zip

Extract CWShredder to its own folder,

Reboot in Safe Mode*** and run the program.

Click the 'Fix ->' button.

Make sure you let it fix all CWS Remnants.

Last:
Run HiJackThis again, and post the new log in this thread. There will be more to do.

First:
I recommend that you uninstall P2P Networking through Add/Remove Programs.
If/when asked whether you also want to remove Altnet components, say 'Yes'.

P2P Networking is a totally useless Kazaa add-on, and it's been reported to be responsible for serious system slowdowns.

Subsequently remove the P2P Networking folder in C:\Windows\System32, if still there.


Second:
I strongly advise you to get rid of SpyKiller. In addition to producing loads of False Positives, it won't detect much of anything at all, and I believe it will charge you $39.95 if you actually want to have it remove what it found...
Uninstall it through Add/Remove Programs!
Both Ad-Aware and SpyBot S&D do an incomparably better job, and they're freeware!


Third:
I recommend that you uninstall Weatherbug, unless you are using the paid version. The free version is adware but does not yet contain any spyware. Tropic Designs WeathPulse is freeware with no ads and is available here: http://www.tropicdesigns.net/weatherpulse.html

Hmmm, you have a new CoolWebSearch infection.

You are going to ahve to limit your internet exposure until we get your system clean and install some protection (freeware).

You already have CWS Shredder installed from a previous post.

Boot into safe mode, run it again.

Reboot in Safe Mode* and delete the following: (you may need to show hidden files**)

Also, uncheck the boxes for hiding known file extensions and hiding protected operating system files. We want to see it all. When we finish here, it would be a good idea to rehide the protected operating system files but leave the rest to be shown.

Reboot. (not necessary, but recommended)


Now, let's get some added protection installed:
To reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster and SpyWareGuard and IE/Spyad.

SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard are by JavaCool and both are free programs. SpywareBlaster will prevent spyware from being installed and consumes no system resources. SpywareGuard offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.

IE/Spyad places over 4000 websites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will several impair attempts to infect your system. It is free.
