After 2 month that I got crazy,trying every antivirus..every tricks found on the net,finally I removed my gaobot.gen from my computer.My symptomps were : no paste (after copy),RPC service announcing me the stupid 1 minute shutdown,other crashes...etc.My infected files were winhlpp32.exe and wmpupdate.exe!

...In other cases it seems the symptoms are pretty same,but other files could be infected...
...So...first step..download the free "AntiVir PersonalEdition 6.24.00.07 " from
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download955.html. Do a virusscan, and during it ..please clean the infected files(stop the internet connection while doing it)....
After this,download 2 security patches from:

2. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...n/MS03-007.mspx

while installing these patches,please disconnect from the net,and restart after each installation!!!
Finally you are free of gaobot.gen...!!!!

First of all Panda has nothing to do with AntiVir PersonalEdition 6.24.00.07. it is made by this company.

Panda does have products also and an onlime free scanner people can use call Panda Active Scan which will also clean off the Gaobot.


So what did you actually do in this case ?

If you do use it..make sure that you click on fix unknowns and everything that they can do. Panda can even detect inside a zip file
