Well, I've managed to uninstall the majority of ISearch from my computer using the methods posted. Unfortunately it still greys out the toolbars and blocks me from going to antispyware sites. I have adware and it did not catch it, I even have mcaffee antispyware which just plain sucks. Anyhow, here is my hijack log. Also, I'm starting a double major in Network Security and Computer / Internet security so I'm very interested in the troubleshooting aspect of this. If ya could inclue short explainations I would very very much appreciate it! Anywho, heres the log:

OK, we are going to take a step approach to removing some of the spyware, then we will get the rest with HiJackThis.

First, we need to unblock access to Lavasoft so you can update AdAware and run it.

1.Download the Host FileReader from here: http://members.shaw.ca/techcd/VB_Projects/

2. Install the program and run it.

To use the program, double click on the Hosts file name in the bottom window.
Then find these four entries:
O1 - Hosts: 127.0.0.22 lavasoft.de
O1 - Hosts: 127.0.0.23 lavasoftusa.com
O1 - Hosts: 127.0.0.76 www.lavasoft.de
O1 - Hosts: 127.0.0.77 www.lavasoftusa.co

Change the 127.0.0.1 in each entry to 66.117.38.101

When finished the original entries shold look like this:
66.117.38.101 lavasoft.de
66.117.38.101 lavasoftusa.com
66.117.38.101 www.lavasoft.de
66.117.38.101 www.lavasoftusa.com

Save changes and exit the Hosts Reader Program

Do not reboot before updating and running AdAware!

3. Update AdAware.

4. Run AdAware.

Then post a new HiJackThis log here.

The software pointed to here C:\WINDOWS\BDE\b3dsetup.Exe, is considered spyware. Since it's removal may impact other program I did nothing for hte moment. Please check the following link and proceed as you see fit:

Did everything but I couldnt see the B3d projector in Add/Remove programs which was stated in the link. Any suggestions on that? All spyware must die in my opinion. Anyhow this is the new log.

Ok just the B3D entry to remove and you are clean.

Check the following items in HijackThis.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [b3dupdate] C:\WINDOWS\BDE\b3dsetup.Exe -silent -p "C:\WINDOWS\BDE" -s setup.cab

Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

Reboot in and delete the following: (you may need to show hidden files**)
C:\WINDOWS\BDE\ <-- folder

Also, uncheck the boxes for hiding known file extensions and hiding protected operating system files. We want to see it all. When we finish here, it would be a good idea to rehide the protected operating system files but leave the rest to be shown.

Reboot. (not necessary, but recommended)


I would also suggest you use Add/Remove Programs and uninstall SpyKiller. It is what I consider 'foistware". It will detect for free, but you have to pay to remove. AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy are far better programs and both are free (there are paid versions of AdAware as well as the free).

Here is some info to help protect your system.

To reduce the potential for spyware infection in the future, I strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster and SpyWareGuard and IE/Spyad.
