Before we do anything, please move HiJackThis to a permanent folder. I suggest 'c:\program files\hijackthis\' but any folder other than the Desktop or a temporary folder is fine. This will allow us to use backups to restore entries if necessary

Check the following items in HijackThis.
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {1C78AB3F-A857-482e-80C0-3A1E5238A565} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {E9147A0A-A866-4214-B47C-DA821891240F} - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\NGSW31.DLL

Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

Reboot. (not necessary, but recommended)

Post another HiJackThis log in this thread for final review.

Also, could you please zip and send the file shown in this entry if you do not recognize it. See your PM for the email address to use.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [THD Auto Loader] C:\WINDOWS\THDALDR.EXE

LoPhattPhuud & Hunter,

I really appreciate the time and effort you took with the information. I was running ME and I've had a copy of XP sitting in my wallet for about 6 months - I finally decided it was time so I formatted, etc. and now I'm up and running XP. Sorry about the PestPatrol - I found them before I got to your site. Anyway, thanks again!
