Hi Sun-Tzu and welcome to the forum flowerz.gif

I would like to have a copy of the following file analyzed and have sent you a private message with my email address to send it to (please check your message box link at the top of this forum):

C:\WINDOWS\System32\wtssvsu.exe <--send this file please.

Next, please let me know what Adaware has for Reference file# loaded? (You'll see the number on main screen when you open the program).

The lastest Ref. file is 01R271 19.03.2004. If you do not have that number, you need to get the updates. (Click on *check for updates now*, download them and let them install). Scan again with Adaware then reboot after cleaning.

Meanwhile, you have these pests on your system. please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an x in the boxes next to these items, then press *fix checked*

Reboot your PC and delete the following files and/or folders named in bold

C:\Program Files\MyWay (folder)

C:\Program Files\Common files\updmgr (folder)

C:\Documents and Settings\mark koks\Application Data\nnht.exe (file)

C:\Program Files\Common Files\CMEII (folder)

C:\Program Files\Common Files\GMT folder

C:\WINDOWS\System32\wtssvsu.exe (file - after you have emailed me a copy, though, please)

It is generally recommended that you uninstall the P2P Networking.
You can uninstall P2P Networking through Add/Remove Programs. If/when asked whether you also want to remove Altnet components, say 'Yes'.
P2P Networking is a totally useless Kazaa add-on, and it's been reported to be responsible for serious system slowdowns.

Subsequently remove the P2P Networking folder in C:\Windows\System32, if still there.

And read this discussion of Kazaa here: Almost half of Kazaa downloads 'threaten security'
http://askdg.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1136.
Which will ultimately lead you to a link in my last reply in that thread that gives you some spywarefree alternatives if you must use file sharing apps:

http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/p2p/
Clean and Infected File Sharing Programs

After you have done all that, please reboot one last time. Scan again with HijackThis and post a new log for us to see if we got everything. :)

Hi Sun-Tzu

Good job, most of the malware is gone, however, a few items remain.

Using Hijackthis, checkmark these items and select *fix checked*. See my notes about Quickshield - that one is optional to fix, depending on whether you installed that yourself. Gator spyware still remains though (GMT.exe)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuikShield] qkshield.exe Note: This item is reported by some to be steath installed without the user's knowledge. If you did not install this yourself, let HijackThis fix it.

O4 - Global Startup: GStartup.lnk = C:\Program Files\Common Files\GMT\GMT.exe<--Gator spyware

O16 - DPF: {8EF27A70-DD04-11D6-B7F6-00A0C9CD5F8A} - http://www.quikshield.com/qshsetup.exe <--- Optional. If you did not install this on purpose, let HijackThis *fix* it

Reboot your PC and delete the folder:
